Description
Austin based "dirty old one-man-band" Scott H. Biram once recorded an album once called Lo-Fi Mojo. That sums up his sound in a few words. As he snaps the strings of his '59 Gibson, there's a ghost of Johnny Cash in production, and of Waylon Jennings in the vocals. Ultimately, though, Biram is one of the last Texas bluesmen. A former punk rocker who headed deeper into roots music, Biram is famous for his successful attempt to knock some sense into an 18 wheeler. While recuperating, he recorded the "Rehabilitation Blues" EP showing his car-crash-ravaged self on the cover. - Richard von Busack sanjose.com
