An event to celebrate the release of the new book NO WAVE. Flashing through the New York underground in the late 1970s, No Wave was the ultimate anti-movement. Its bands consisted of artists and poets untrained in music, looking to explode rock and disappear before the smoke cleared. Authors Marc Masters and Weasel Walter will read from the book, discuss the movement, and play music and videos from the time period. Clips from DNA, Contortions, Teenage Jesus & the Jerks, Von Lmo, Lounge Liizards, Bush Tetras and more will be featured.
