San Francisco, Calif.--The year 2009 will be swept in at Club Six at Midnight on the sure hands and well worn needles of Hip-Hop and nu-Soul luminary, DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest and Lucy Pearl. Aptly named Midnight, the party will rock from 8pm on New Year's Eve 2008 into 2009 with three rooms of multi-genre aural opulence taking a thousand or so electrified party-goers to body-rockin' bliss as the clock strikes twelve.

Downstairs, where the beat goes till some ungodly hour, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, the Midnight Marauder of ATCQ, headlines hitting the decks just in time to herald in 2009. Mr. Muhammad, who is known to be dedicated to the art of moving butts, will be guiding the groove with classic hip-hop, party jams and only the crème de la crème of Top 40. Hot on the heals of his Rainy Days mix CD hosted by rock giant, Radiohead, Zion I producer and eclectic DJ Amp Live is also set to hold session on the ones and twos in the Club 6 basement. Sure and steady DJ DNZ rounds out the room's lineup and Red Stripe beer provides two for one drink specials from 8pm-10pm to keep the party bubbling.

As for Club Six's Dark Room, where the live stage and soundsystem beg for guitar licks and snare hits, island style local heroes, Native Elements will jam into 2009 with the support of the perennial reggae-dancehall champion sound system, Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi. Jah Warrior, made up of reggae selectors Jah-Yzer, Irie Dole and I-vier, have a running monopoly on soundclash championships. These DJs hold virtually every soundclash award handed out in Northern California and some beyond while holding down weekly and monthly club residencies and radio shows throughout the Bay Area.

Upon entry, newjacks and scene aficionados alike will find themselves in a room of acoustic variety. Club Six's upstairs White Room is hosted by Fools' Gold recording act and Bay Area innovator, Trackademicks. His DJ, Tap 10 and LA party rockers, Lambo and Capski of Laundromat United come prepared to bend, mash, chop and screw genres like a finely mixed gumbo of hip-hop, electro, rock and who knows what else.

Celebrating its tenth year just under a month ago, Club Six has been voted San Francisco's best hip-hop club, two years running, by the San Francisco Bay Guardian Best of the Bay edition. Also having received accolades for a number of monthly parties, Club Six is also home to reggae, dub and arts events Veni Vidi Vici, Surya Dub, DeeCee's Soul Shakedown and others. In 2005, Club Six was immortalized on the big screen in the nationally released movie Rent and for the past three New Year's Eves the venue has hosted packed and unforgettable soirees with up to a thousand party goers.
