Description

On September 13, Bay Area Lyme Foundation Speaker Series will offer information about the local impact of Lyme disease, and other tick-borne illnesses, and feature Jordan Fisher Smith, acclaimed author and cast member of “Under Our Skin” and “Under Our Skin 2: Emergence,” and former Lyme patient, as well as Jo Ellis, education outreach director, Bay Area Lyme Foundation. Enjoy some lite bites and refreshments at the History Club of Los Gatos, and be part of the discussion.

About Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is the fastest growing vector-borne illness in the US, and ticks infected with the bacteria that causes Lyme disease have been found in 42 counties in California. Ticks in the Bay Area carry a larger diversity of bacteria than expected and tick-borne disease risk is higher in Redwood habitats than previously believed, according to a study funding by Bay Area Lyme Foundation. Bay Area Lyme Foundation, a leading national private funder of Lyme disease research, is committed to making Lyme disease easy to diagnose and simple to cure.
