Many cities, towns and counties around the Bay Area have organized "wine trails"-dedicated paths for wine lovers to follow from vineyard to vineyard. And yet, despite having over 20 wineries, Santa Clara County has not been one of those cities-at least until now. The new Santa Clara Wine Trail Route, will be unveiled this weekend at Morgan Hill's Guglielmo Winery, one of the area's oldest producers of vino. More than 70 signs have been posted along the county wine trail, which loops through South County, along Watsonville Road, Hecker Pass Highway and the east sides of Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill. A $40 ticket to the trail's opening weekend will provide access to tastings, barbecues, antipasti, live music and special discounts at participating wineries.
