Charles Luce, the last man in Drawbridge. He was born in 1914 and first started to visit Drawbridge in 1930. He and his dog Quincy took up permanent residence in 1974. He stayed until 1979 when he was bought out by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Drawbridge and Station Island became a part of the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
