DescriptionA unique new running competition called the Double (short for Double Road Race) is a distance race consisting of two legs-an opening 10K leg, followed by a 5K leg, with a break in between.
Race participants run two road races (a 10k and a 5k) on the same day. The Double was created by Bob Anderson, the founder of Runner's World Magazine.
The first race took place in Pleasanton. It now comes to San Jose with varying themes for the entire morning, including races for kids. Times are added together for judging and awards. Prizes are also awarded for the Best Costume in the mardi gras run.
