About The Cliff House

Located on the west end of San Francisco on a rocky point called Point Lobos, the new Cliff House reflects an entirely updated facility that bridges past and present. It is a beautiful structure inspired by the style of the original 1909 structure including an impressive North Wing that incorporates architectural elements of the old Sutro Baths. Among the pleasing modern updates are three publicly accessible observation desks and expanded panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Ocean Beach and Seal Rocks, the Sutro Bath ruins, Marin Headlands and the entry to the Golden Gate.

Most dramatic among the exciting new features is the new North Sutro Wing, which houses a gracious entry lobby that leads into an amazing dining room with a two story-high ceiling, skylights, and awe-inspiring views. The current dining room (Seafood & Beverage Company) has been transformed into a bistro style restaurant serving breakfast, light lunch and a light dinner.

Brunching in the Avenues
A few good reasons to get out of bed on Sunday
By Tamar Love (12/05/2000)

" When I first moved to the Inner Richmond, I was dismayed. I'd relocated to the Bay Area to steep myself in city culture, and here I was, out in the Avenues, far away from anything even remotely resembling city life. Now, seven years later, I am quite delighted with my cozy rent-controlled one-bedroom apartment in the boondocks. It's quiet, it's relatively civilized, and-best of all-you don't have to wait an hour to get a scrumptious brunch on the weekend... "
