Description
Fusing gritty soul with rocksteady and reggae, Los Angeles-based band The Aggrolites know how to start a party. Originally formed from the ashes of two previous L.A. reggae and ska bands, The Aggrolites first coalesced as the backing band for Jamaican icon Derrick Morgan in 2002. After touring with Morgan, the Aggros stuck together and they've been at it ever since. By meshing choppy church organ lines, loping rhythms and scratchy guitar upstrokes with frontman Jesse Wagner's ecstatic, Otis Redding-channeling delivery, The Aggrolites sound a bit like that party from Animal House--minus the folk bro on the stairs covering Joan Baez.
