Description

As part of the Art Department’s Artist Lecture Series, this India-born photographer will discuss his works and their themes of migration, sexuality, health, illness and architecture. Growing up watching Bollywood films, he later moved to Canada with his family, where his growing interest in photography was fueled by Montreal art cinema. Creating photographic images since the mid 1970s, when he studied at the New School in New York City, Gupta then progressed to a series of exhibitions that toured worldwide. Now a London resident, he has become one of the U.K.’s foremost photographers and artists.
