Description
Splitting records with some of today's best punk bands (including Joyce Manor, and San Jose's Hard Girls), SoCal's Summer Vacation plays fast, heavily distorted punk songs with goofy, nonsensical titles, ("Boycott Will Smith," "Morning After Pill Party," "The Flower That Drank The Moon"). The music is fierce punk at its core with complex guitar noodling interspersed. It swims around the outskirts of the genre like the Thermals and Les Savy Fav. Despite the song titles, the lyrics are actually personal, though they do lean toward the offbeat. (Jerry Salas)
