Description

Togonon Gallery is pleased to present SUBMERGE, a two-person exhibition featuring Servando Garcia and Megan Euker. Both artists consider painting as a type of psychological space. These created spaces are engaging, inviting the observer in through perplexing angles and perspectives.

Servando Garcia is interested in his emotional responses to the familiar. He considers the creation of space as expression and as an absorptive visual experience. Garcia received his BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2000 and continued on to earn his MFA at the Chicago Art Institute in 2007. He received a coveted artist grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in 2005 and is currently living and working in the central coast of California.

Megan Euker is concerned with ritualistic human interaction. Her paintings depict specific cultural places and customs, but at the same time speak to larger themes that are more universal. Bathers are the subjects of her current work.
