Description
Squeeze wasn’t a ska band, but they couldn’t have existed without it. I will bet money that it’s just as easy to skank to “Cool For Cats” as anything that came out of the 2-Tone movement. The band had broken up twice, and been gone (but not forgotten) for nearly a decade by the time they re-united in 2007. In the meantime, their hits like “Tempted” “Hourglass” and “Black Coffee in Bed” became staples of modern rock. They’re well paired with the English Beat, who proved once again at their recent Music in the Park show that Dave Wakefield is the hardest-working man in ska business, and that they’re as good as ever. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com
