Remember that boxing arcade game Punch Out? The first opponent’s name was Glass Joe—and rightfully so. Anyone from your 5-year-old niece to your 65-year-old nana could beat him. Well at least Glass Joe could make it to the ring, but for some odd reason Josh “The Punk” Thomson can’t. More

San Jose skate culture finally has a park as big as its worldwide reputation. Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park opens this month with a lot of buzz and a bit of anti-authoritarian drama. (April, 2008)

THE GREEN foothills of east San Jose form the backdrop as we stand in what seems like acres of smooth cement. The brand new Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park doesn't officially open until April 26, but some local skateboard celebrities recently decided to test the place out. So I'm there in the hot sun on a weekday afternoon... More

There are some pretty great foot races out there—some longer, some shorter, some with hills, others that are flat—but none quite as great as the “Great Race” on Highway 9 from Saratoga to Los Gatos. More

To the women about to bike, we salute you. March 8 is your day, and Velo Girls celebrated it by putting on the Tri-Flow Menlo Park Grand Prix. Sure, the guys can ride, too, but this one was really for the women cyclists. More
