Legendary pop music icon Smokey Robinson comes to the stage at the Mountain Winery as part of their summer concert series. Smokey Robinson's first claim to fame was as the front man of the popular Motown vocal group The Miracles, for which he also served as the group's chief songwriter and producer. From 1960 to 1972, The Miracles scored a number of hits, including "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," "Going to a Go-Go," and many more. After leaving The Miracles, Smokey struck out on his own, establishing himself as a solo artist and recording some of his best known songs in the process. Today, he is regarded as one of the most influential artists of the Motown era, if not in popular music, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
