Description
The Scream just sold at auction for a record breaking 119 million dollars (chump change for Mitt but out of reach for the 47 percenters), and the man who made it all possible, Edvard Munch, did not see one dime of that money. Imagine how much more satisfying it would be to spend a lot less money and know that the artist is alive to appreciate the gesture. Such is the premise behind the Art Exhibition and Auction at the Institute of Contemporary Art. The annual showcase provides a chance to sample works in many styles by scores of area artists. The show culminates in an auction with champagne and hors doeuvres on Oct. 27.
