Description
Usually, it’s not a good sign when a band changes its lineup 19 times in 14 years. But that hasn’t fazed Shai Hulud, the loud and raucous alternative metal band credited with pioneering the metalcore music scene. Guitarist Matt Fox has remained the common denominator of the metal quartet (named after the sandworms from Dune) since its formation in 1995. Despite Shai Hulud’s revolving-door lineup, it has remained true to its genre—mixing hardcore punk with heavy-metal guitar riffs. The band is supporting its third studio album, Misanthropy Pure, which has been praised for being one of the best metalcore albums released last year. Reign Supreme, the Carrier, Maya Over Eyes, the Wrath and Locked Up A.D. also perform.
