Description
The only way to make prog-metal even more hardcore is to make it instrumental. Let the riffs do the talking—or screaming, if you will. Houston's Scale the Summit play some mean metal riffs. Plus they got some serious math rock chops and do prog-rock jams with jazzy overtones. Sure, these kids may look young and scrappy, but they've been well schooled. Guitarists Chris Letford and Travis Levrier studied at the musician's institute in LA in 2004. Later they even took a "string instrument" building course and built their own custom guitars. If that doesn't give them a license to riff out sans vocalist, I don't know what does.More Info
