Alex Speaks is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to helping San Francisco Bay Area schools that are serving autistic children every day while raising awareness to the causes and treatments for this silent disease. The Foundation’s goal is to help support children struggling with an autism disorder by contributing to autistic programs at local schools.

The Alex Speaks Foundation came about from an annual event that was started in conjunction with the release of the book "The Voices of Latin Rock".

Leo Rosales is a lifelong musician in the Latin Rock field, starting with his being an integral part of the legendary Latin Rock group Malo. Leo Rosales who has come through his own personal challenges, has pledged to run in the 118th Boston Marathon on Patriots Day, April 21st, 2014 to bring awareness for autism as well as raise funds for the Alex Speaks Foundation.

Leo Rosales has been running for over 7 years, having run over 20 marathons (26.2 miles), 50 half marathons (13.1), several 50K’s (31 miles), 50 milers, and 6 and 12 hour ultra endurance races, as well as 1000’s of training miles. One of his greatest goals is to one day run the Boston Marathon. Although he attempted unsuccessfully for 4 years, he never gave up. Finally, in 2012, he ran the Brazen Racing Western Pacific Marathon with a Boston qualifying time of 3:52:07. The official Boston qualifying time was 3:55:00 for his age group of 60 year olds. Leo is privileged and honored to be running in such a prestigious event, in support of such an important cause.
