Drive-By Shooting Results in Sixth Homicide This Year

Police have yet to release many details about the shooting, which occurred at the Cabana Apartments on Poco Way, located near Clyde Abuckle Elementary School.

San Jose Airport Terminal on Lockdown after Security Breach
Local Jan 14, 2011, by Danny WoolMineta Airport’s Terminal B was on lockdown Thursday night after a woman exited the secure area and attempted to re-enter through the exit line, bypassing a second screening. Because of the incident, all of the passengers in the terminal were forced to go through a second screening. Even passengers already on planes were told to leave the aircraft and go through screening again.

Medical Marijuana Dispensary Fire May Have Been Arson
Local Jan 13, 2011, by Silicon Valley NewsroomFirefighters are investigating whether the fire at the Herb Appeal medical marijuana dispensary was the result of arson. While other marijuana collectives have had fires in the past, they were usually the result of faulty wiring indoors. In order to determine whether the fire was, in fact, arson, investigators are now searching for traces of accelerant at the scene.

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck 45 miles southeast of San Jose in Monterey County early this morning. It was the second earthquake in less than a week to hit the region. On Saturday, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred east of San Jose. There was no reported damage or injury from this morning’s quake.
