Cinebar

Cinebar is a venerable dive bar in downtown San Jose that’s usually wall to wall with boozers young and old from the time it creaks open its’ hole in the wall door at 6am, pours an eye opener shot and cracks a PBR and that screw the liver vibe makes this San Jose dive bar one of the best places to get down right cross-eyed wasted in.   Everybody drinks at the Cinebar in San Jose and those that haven’t evidently have no clue about what they’re missing out on at this classic downtown San Jose dive bar.  No matter which way it’s sliced, a $2 beer and loud tunes from the best juke in town beats an $8 beer and cookie cutter DJs any day of the freakin’ week.

        As a downtown San Jose drinking institution the Cinebar only has one dive bar rival: the Caravan.  But, there’s no chance of a ‘50s style San Jose bar rumble ‘cause here’s the thing, the same cool blend of wizened regulars, punk rock sots, San Jose State benders, rockabillys, drunks, hipsters and unwashed vagrants are completely loyal to both San Jose bars, they just split their daily liver destroying excursions between both.
