Author and MSNBC news show host Rachel Maddow will appear with broadcaster Pat Thurston at the Morris Daily Auditorium Feb. 25 to accept the John Steinbeck Award. First presented in 1996, previous recipients include Bruce Springsteen, Dolores Huerta, Arthur Miller, Joan Baez, Garrison Keillor, Sean Penn and Michael Moore.

Police Raid Theater Group over Prop

Perhaps that was the idea behind a series of brief productions by the San Jose State University theater group. Their actors were performing Car Play, six theatrical sketches lasting 10 minutes each, but instead of using an auditorium, they were using a university parking garage. Ibsen be damned. This was realism at its finest.
