Residents Ask for and Get Crime Prevention Specialists
Community Dec 01, 2010, by Silicon Valley NewsroomResponding to public demands, the SJPD has agreed to provide crime prevention specialists to neighborhoods in West San Jose.Crime specialists were cut back from certain neighborhood, even though crime was on the rise. Part of the problem that the residents face is that so many of the crimes go unreported. A recent survey found that two-thirds of the residents did not report crimes that they knew about.

Sacred Heart Starts Preparing for Holidays

On Saturday, Sacred Heart Community Services began registering families to receive food and gifts for the holiday. Thousands of people lined up, so many, in fact, that Poncho Guevara, executive director of Sacred Heart Community Services, says that it is the most that he has ever seen—an estimated 6,000 people.
