Multifamily Homes Selling Across South Bay

Smaller apartment projects have been gaining in popularity across the South Bay, with four separate projects selling last week in San Jose, Sunnyvale, Redwood City and San Mateo.
The deals were brokered by NAI/BT Commercial. The San Jose deal involved a seven-unit complex on Curtner Avenue, which sold for $928,000—or under $135,000 per unit. Last Tuesday, Leslie Appleton-Young, chief economist for the California Association of Realtors, predicted that such deals involving lower-priced homes would drive the local real estate market over 2010.
