Moon News Bookstore, in business since 1997, is located 40 minutes down the coast from San Francisco in the scenic coastal town of Half Moon Bay. In a funky and beautiful old Main Street building called the Tin Palace, the bookstore is happily situated between the incredible aromas of Pasta Moon Restaurant on its left and the melodious crowing of Half Moon Bay Feed and Fuel's roosters on its right. We are both an independent bookstore and newsstand, carrying international & domestic magazines and newspapers you won't easily find elsewhere. We're considered a great browser's bookstore, specializing in literary fiction and nonfiction that pamper the intellect and tickle the fancy of both the curious and avid reader.
Bookstores are as different from each other as the people who manage and own them. Some you like and some you love. The staff at our store is an engaging bunch. We are all avid readers and try to share our passion, interest and knowledge with our customers through what we order, display, recommend and sell. We write blurbs for our favorite selections, and many of our customers come in specifically to check out the latest on our staff pick displays.
