Description
For a mere mortal, it would be pretty nerve-wracking to be asked to share one's dinner by three spirits, who are all, shall we say, the biggest of big wigs in the divine world. But humble working man Macario not only survives such a high-stakes meal, he prospers afterward, having apparently acquired a miraculous power. What he does with his power shapes his fate in Teatro Vision's world premiere production of Macario. Evelina Fernandez, composer Russell Rodriguez and choreographer Maria De La Rosa adapted the play from an acclaimed novel and film. Macario draws on aspects of magical realism as well as Dia de los Muertos themes. --Heather Zimmerman
