Description

The critically acclaimed Mexican roots music group Los Cenzontles will be performing a special show just days after the release of its new album, ‘Raza de Oro,’ which hits stores on October 12. The new album, featuring guest performers like David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Ry Cooder and Pete Sears of Jefferson Starship, features some politically poignant songs including a ‘Corrido’ written in response to Arizona’s controversial immigration law.
The Grammy-nominated band got its start at a San Pablo Mexican youth arts center, and has grown into a popular music group boasting reviews from The New York Times stating, “[Los Cenzontles] both honors and upends traditional Mexican music (flowering into) something completely new and distinctly American.”
