Description
Travel is a central theme in Laura Meyer's work. In fact, you can imagine her music the soundtrack to a lonely late night drive on an empty interstate highway. Mixing folk, blues and a lot of fiery energy, Meyer ends up sounding like a sort of soulful PJ Harvey combined with the grit of Lucinda Williams. Growing up, she was obsessed with Tom Petty. While, she does have that raw bare bones adherence to roots rock that Petty's always had, what she lacks is his laid back presentation of it. Her music is an emotional storm, sometimes quiet, other times loud and ferocious, but always real to the core. (Aaron Carnes)
