Description
This Emmy-award winning animated documentary will be screened Wednesday evening, followed by a community discussion. The film dissects problems in the criminal justice system revolving around racism and lack of support for the mentally ill. Protagonist Bill Babbitt is faced with the decision to follow the law or support his brother, a Vietnam War veteran, on death row. The conversation will be lead by Lucas Art fellow Gregory Sale and his invited guests: policy adviser Michael Mendoza and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dee Hibbert-Jones. The activists will share their work within the criminal justice system and create dialogue to further inspire social change.
