Description
ABOUT OUR SACRED COASTOur Sacred Coast is an exhibition of plein air paintings, drawings and large studio landscapes. Artist Ian Wing’s works display a series of landscapes that include the initial sketch, development paintings and final studio piece to highlight the process of landscape painting. Ian Wing’s landscapes showcase select locations across the California coastline, such as 3-Mile Beach, Coast Dairies and Scott Creek Beach. “I hope to remind my busy neighbors of the treasure we all share, as well as the importance of conserving it for the future,” Wing says.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ian Wing is a Bay Area native and artist who takes inspiration from the California Impressionists such as Guy Rose, Elmer and Marion Wachtel, as well as modern plein air painters like Mike Hernandez and Nathan Fowkes. The works are primarily gouache and acrylic with charcoal and pencil studies. Learn more about Ian Wing and his exhibition at CSMA on our blog at arts4all.org.
