Description
Laurie San Martin and Haleh Abghari are joined by percussionist Chris Froh to present a work-in-progress inspired by Farid al-Din Attar's ancient story, "The Conference of the Birds." Created by Abghari and San Martin, this new musical and theatrical form of story-telling for soprano/vocalist and percussion with computer processed sounds uses aspects of Korean pansori and Iranian traditional music. The ancient story tells of a group of birds, who venture through extreme challenges to find a leader. Aspects of the original story are woven together with other stories in this satirical and dramatic performance.
