| Description The interesting thing about blues-rocker George Thorogood is not his music—a regurgitated mass of ‘50s boogie blues—but rather his unique place in the classic rock idiom, which falls somewhere between ZZ Top and Ted Nugent. Perhaps it was Thorogood’s formulaic approach to rock & roll or his irreproachable whiteness that prevented the Delaware born guitarist’s embrace by blues purists; whatever the case, he certainly found an audience on the FM airwaves. Blazing guitar riffs and straight-ahead rhythms propelled Thorogood to nearly unparalleled success in the ‘80s, and hits like “Move it On Over” and “Bad to the Bone” continue to be staples on classic rock radio, as well as in the tape decks of many mullet-sporting individuals. Blues legend Buddy Guy opens. |
