Description
These young punk-rockers today...so damn optimistic. Just listen as San Jose pop-punk outfit Four O'Clock Heroes sing about making a long distance relationship work: "Don't stop/Don't fight the feeling/Never give up/Don't stop believing." That's a far cry from say, Black Flag. ("There's no girls that want to touch me/I don't need your goddamn sympathy/Depression's got a hold of me/Depression's gonna kill me.") In addition to not being mired in teen angst and severe hopelessness, these pop-punkers know how to write a catchy tune. Plus they've got some solid chops and some crisp vocal harmonies. - Aaron Carnes sanjose.com
