Description
Vocalist Morizen Foche (Aka MoFo) is said to have coined the term "skate punk," which was used primarily in the '80s to describe powerful, heavy punk rock. This is a perfect description for local punk legends Drunk Injuns, who are coming up on their 30th year. Donning spooky Indian masks, the band creates a moody sludgy atmosphere as MoFo screams out agonizing lyrics, like in "She Gots a Gun" in which MoFo shares his eyewitness account of a murder in cryptic, but intense lyrics. They also have a more energetic, garage-rock, rebellious side shown in "Question Authority," a minute-long song displaying the frustrations of an average working man fitting into a suffocating corporate job. Fellow local punk legends Los Olvidados also play. (Amulya Datla)
