Description
American musician Dmitri Matheny has been praised for his warm tone, lifting lyricism, and expert technique. The Jazzlz Readers Poll has voted him "Best New Artist," Down Beat's International Critics Poll has deemed him "Talent Deserving Wider Recognition," and the Mercury News has called him "the first breakthrough flugelhornist since Chuck Mangione."Matheny's an honors grad of Interlochen Arts Academy and the Berklee College of Music. He's studied with Carmine Caruso and with the legendary Art Farmer for a decade. Matheny's been involved on over 50 albums, and he has performed with the very best from the jazz world.
