Description
In the tradition of reinventing himself with every project, DIY icon Walter Schreifels (of Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand) goes off in a '60s blues-rock tangent, with the newly assembled Dead Heavens. The quartet has only released two singles so far, but a split 7" with single "Feel Low" and a cover of Krautrock legends Can (!) comes out Friday. We're still scratching our heads over Quicksand breaking up after only two brilliant albums and why the short-lived Rival Schools never took off, but such is the way with restless geniuses. Mrs. Magician, who have been rising in the psychedelic garage-pop ranks, open the show along with Jean Jackets. (AL)
