Description
The San Jose Museum of Art is proud to announce its Community Day where admission is free! Guests can wander around the museum's various exhibits at their own leisure and participate in art activities at the art-making stations. The day's festivities will feature a live musical performance by DeJazz VU from 2 to 4 PM. Hands-on art activities will include a "Create Your Own Wonderland" stencil project, learn to weave with paper looms and yarn, and creation of decorative wind socks.Gigante, the mascot of the San Jose Giants, will be on hand for complimentary family photos from 12 PM to 1 PM. Admission is free. Spice up your Spring season with a little bit of art!
"The free Community Day also celebrates International Museum Day. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977 to encourage public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society. More than 30,000 museums worldwide offer special programs or free admission on or around May 18."
