Description

Nyung Nays of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion are a purification practice and a way to create vast amounts of merit and help us develop our compassion.

To participate, a minimum requirement of having taken Refuge as a Buddhist as well as having great faith in Cherezig with an aspiration to develop Bodhichitta is required.

In total we will be offering 3 Nyung Nays. Each Nyung Nay spans 3 days; 2 full days and the morning of the 3rd day. Each Nyung Nay consists of 7 sessions of 2.5-3 hours per session.

Nyung Nay's begin with taking Bodhisattva vows on the first day and continue with practice sessions which include meditation, chanting and prostrations. You eat 1 meal a day on the first day. On the second day, you continue with the practice sessions however, there are no meals. The morning of the 3rd day you enjoy a soothing drink, do one final session and finish with a good breakfast.

You can attend as many sessions as you wish but if you've never done a Nyung Nay before, then participation in either the first session is mandatory.

The Nyung Nays will be lead by our senior monk, Venerable Steve and what what makes this even more auspicious is that it is being done during the Tibetan New Year and culminates on the Day of Miracles.
