Camp NU | 3-Day Story Camp

Description

Get summer started with Camp NU! Explore, discover, and create in our maker and art-focused camps designed to build creative and critical thinking skills, and enhance children's imaginations. Each day-camp with have a unique theme and will run in 3-day and 1-day segments from June 12 to August 4th. Classes are best for ages 6-10. Parents are encouraged to register online. Below, find dates and descriptions for each camp segment.

3-Day Camp Dates and Descriptions

Story Camp | June 12-14 | 9am-12pm
Fee $135 (includes $35 materials fee)
Is your child a natural storyteller? Let them develop their skills at Camp NU. They will learn the importance of collaborative creativity with group projects, including creating their own story stones and producing a collaborative theatrical play. They will learn new storytelling formats with activities like comic book writing and stop motion movie making. Skills developed include creative and critical thinking, imagination, cooperating, and physical and verbal expression.

Snack will be provided for all participants, please include any food restrictions in the registration form. Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day. Parents are responsible for signing their children in with a Camp NU staff member, and completing the emergency contact form.



Nature Art Camp | July 10-12, 9am-12pm
$135 (includes $35 materials fee)
Help your child's love of nature blossom at our fantastical Nature Art Camp. Participants will learn about the local wildlife with outdoor art projects like bird feeder building and nature walks where they will learn to identify native plants. They'll also expand their artistic skills by practicing drawing from nature, creating a nature journal to record their findings, and mixing their own natural color paints from plant pigments.

Snack will be provided for all participants, please include any food restrictions in the registration form. Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day. Parents are responsible for signing their children in with a Camp NU staff member, and completing the emergency contact form.


STEAM Camp | July 24-26, 9am-12pm
$135 (includes $35 materials fee)
Let your child's imagination soar to the stars with NUMU STEAM Camp. Campers will learn about a variety of scientific topics...with art! We'll build a solar oven to learn about renewable energy, study engineering concepts with golf balls and cardboard tube "roller coasters", and explore polymers by creating bouncy balls. Campers can discover space exploration with soaps and beads and experiment with chemical reactions--with paint!

Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day. Parents are responsible for signing their children in with a Camp NU staff member, and completing the emergency contact form.



1-Day Camp Dates and Descriptions
$65 per day | 5 hours | Snack provided, participants will bring their own lunch

Mess-Makers Day Camp | June 16, 9am-2pm | $65 per day
Can’t keep your kids from making a mess? Send them to us! At our Mess-Makers Day Camp we will be experimenting all day long with different messy painting techniques. They will paint with squirt guns and fizzing paints, experiment with paper marbling, and create their own exploding vinegar and baking soda rockets.

Snack will be provided for all participants, please include any food restrictions in the registration form. Participants must bring their own lunch. Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day. Parents are responsible for signing their children in with a Camp NU staff member, and completing the emergency contact form.


Dr. Doolittle Day Camp | July 21, 9am-2pm | $65 per day
Does your child love animals? Let them go wild at our Dr. Doolittle Day Camp where we’ll be spending the day making beautiful art for animal lovers. Kids will be making a bird they can take home with them, working together to design fantastic beasts, making pipe cleaner animals, and looking at some of our coolest taxidermy!

Snack will be provided for all participants, please include any food restrictions in the registration form. Participants must bring their own lunch. Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day. Parents are responsible for signing their children in with a Camp NU staff member, and completing the emergency contact form.


Camp NUM-EW Day Camp | August 4, 9am-2pm | $65 per day
Want a fantastically gross way to spend a summer day? At Day Camp NUM-EW we’ll be spending the day making our own slime and glow in the dark foam, creating art with Jell-o, and making bug badges that kids can take home with them! We’ll also be making our own bouncy balls and fizzy bath bombs!

Snack will be provided for all participants, please include any food restrictions in the registration form. Participants must bring their own lunch. Parents must bring registration and PayPal receipt when you sign your child in on the first day.
