Description
This November, visit one of the most important periods in world history. Set in Weimar Germany, Cabaret tells the story of an American writer discovering the decadent world of Berlin while witnessing the rise of Nazism. The nightlife of the city is home to many of society’s outcasts, now forced to realize the increasing threat to daily life. Kander & Ebb’s most well-known show gave birth to the concept musical, allowing songs to comment on important themes. The original musical, movie, and groundbreaking revival all left marks on popular culture and remind us that those who do not learn from their history are doomed to repeat it. Join us as the Emcee of the Kit Kat Klub guides us through this complicated time with such American standards as “Wilkommen,” “Money,” “If You Could See Her,” “Two Ladies,” and, of course “Cabaret.”Parental advisory: Due to strong subject matter, including language and adult themes, there is a minimum age requirement of 10 to attend this production. Parents are also advised to take the subject matter under consideration for children over 10.
