Description
Although Bill Koeb's name might not ring any bells, you may very well already be a fanboy (or girl) of his artwork if you’ve ever picked up Clive Barker’s Hellraiser comic book series--to which the artist contributed. Koeb's drawings and paintings reflect a wide array of disparate influences: the chaotic orders of Willem de Kooning, the cadaverous palettes of Francis Bacon and the apocalyptic washes of Ralph Steadman. In this solo exhibition, Koeb presents a series of monotypes which explore his interest in "the relationship between what we see on the surface and what lies beneath." (JE)
