Description
With their last full-length, Strong Hands, this San Francisco band (via Portland and Sacramento) established that they do the modern metal thing (dirty and clean vocals, palm-muted riffs and absurd down-tuning) with considerably more melody, structure, and finesse than the Hot Topic clones polluting the genre. The stop-gap material on In Blood And Light, the group's new EP, does an even better job with these in-song polarities-or to quote As Artifacts, 'make the heavy sound pretty and the pretty sound dirty." With Requiem, Infinite Sleep, Walk Like Remedy and Montra. (AL)
