Description
Annie Sampson spent her early years in the fertile musical climate of rural Louisiana, surrounded by a family of teachers and ministers who sang together as a way of life. This love for music can be heard in every note that Annie sings, even today. Her music blends elements of blues, rock, country and folk for a sound that is both familiar yet fresh. Her first claim to fame was as the lead vocalist of the group Stoneground, who recorded several popular albums in the early 1970's. Since then, Annie has performed with Elvin Bishop, Taj Mahal, Buddy Miles, Maria Muldaur, Eddie Money and Country Joe MacDonald, to name a few.
