Monday:
The Green
The Green’s motto is “spread love.” The feel-good band from Hawaii landed in Billboard’s Top 10 Reggae Albums of 2010 with their debut release. They’ve opened up for acts like Nas and Damien Marley, and now they’re headlining their own island-style tour.

Tuesday:
Traditional Irish Session
Listen to lively traditional Irish music in a true Irish pub atmosphere with host Ray O’Flaherty himself on Sunday and Tuesday nights at O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub in downtown San Jose. Experienced Irish style musicians are warmly welcome as long as they practice appropriate session etiquette: don’t hog the mic.

Wednesday:
Lolita Roadtrip
Most people know of Vladimir Nabokov by his novel, Lolita, but few know of him as a lepidopterist who made significant contributions to the field of entomology; in the ‘40s, he organized Harvard’s butterfly collection. His 1941 roadtrip from New York to Stanford inspired the new play Lolita Roadtrip, written by San Jose native Trevor Allen. The dark comedy follows Julia (a rebellious Stanford graduate student researching her thesis) and Danny (a hitchhiking teenaged runaway she picks up) as they retrace Nabokov’s roadtrip.

Thursday:
Orny Adams
Orny Adams was the struggling comic in Jerry Seinfeld’s documentary Comedian, but lately he’s been on a roll with his debut comedy album and Comedy Central special of the same name, Orny Adams Takes the Third, and his role as Coach Bobby Finstock on MTV’s Teen Wolf. Catch his latest stand-up routine at the San Jose Improv.

Friday:
The Usuals One Year Anniversary
The Usuals shop on The Alameda survived their first year of business and they’re celebrating with a bash. New works by dNA and Closet Invaders will be on display, and Squareweezy and Cutso from The Bangerz will be on the decks. The Treatbot ice-cream-and-karaoke truck will also be on site.
