Description

Eight beautiful 1920s Spanish Revival homes and buildings are open for one day only! The Preservation Action Council of San Jose presents this glimpse into the architectural history of San Jose with 8 masterworks by the firm of Wolfe & Higgins. Self-guided tour in the Greater Rose Garden and Willow Glen neighborhoods.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO...
San Jose architect Frank Wolfe, already well known in California for his innovative residential designs, partnered with his son Carl Wolfe and William Ernest Higgins to form what would become one of the most prolific architectural firms of its time. Early adopters of the Spanish Revival style that swept California in the 1920s, the firm of Wolfe & Higgins produced some of the most recognizable architectural landmarks in Northern California and some of the most beautiful houses in San Jose. See for yourself the work of the firm that helped define San Jose in the 1920s. Most of these houses have never before been open to the public.
