"Waipuna is an exciting collaboration of two talented individuals, Kale Hannahs and Matt Sproat. After many years on the Hawaiian music circuit, these two Kamehameha School graduates first performed together as a duo on a tour to Japan in October 2007. Kale and Matt's eclectic musical background and similar taste in music has led to the development of a unique and fresh sound that draws comparisons to their name, Waipuna, or spring water. The duo released their critically acclaimed debut album in November of 2009 and has started working on their follow-up project, due out in August 2011 . While their love for performing traditional music has allowed Waipuna to work with many different hula halau from both Hawai'i and Japan, these gentlemen has also earned a reputation as an emerging talent on Hawaii's music scene. Known for their "big" sound, this Kale and Matt sing with passion and perform their modern day interpretations of traditional songs while creating new favorites from original compositions.
