Saturday marks another major event for San Jose fighters as hometown favorite Cung Le takes on former UFC middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin at “UFC on Fuel 6.”

The bout serves as the main event as the UFC visits Macau, China for the first time. Cung (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is coming off a decision win from July’s UFC 148 and Rich (29-6-1 MMA, 14-5 UFC) is coming off a decision win at UFC 147.

Le, based in San Jose, is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion. A huge fan favorite, he was one of the biggest stars of the organization before he put his fighting career on pause to make an appearance on the big screen. Le took his martial arts skills to Hollywood and found success staring in roles next to some of the entertainment industries largest stars.

Le is probably most recognized for his appearance in 2009’s “Fighting,” which stared actor Channing Tatum, and still at the box office, Quentin Tarantino’s “The Man with the Iron Fists” led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu.

In his return to the Octagon, stakes are higher than ever this time as the winner takes one giant step closer to being a contender for Anderson Silva’s 185 pound crown. Due to time difference the fight will be shown Saturday morning at 5am.
