Three labor unions got results from protesting in front of San Jose City Hall on Monday, coaxing city officials back into negotiating pension reform.

A row of them stood before the RV at a demonstration Monday afternoon holding a large sign that read, “Tell the truth, negotiate now.”

City officials refused to discuss pension reform on Friday with unions so they could focus on language for a ballot measure. Union representatives responded by walking out. On Monday, Gurza said he was sorry and his office asked the unions to come back to the bargaining table.

The union officials in that meeting represent members of the Association of Engineers and Architects, the Association of Maintenance Supervisory Personnel and the City Association of Management Personnel.
