San Francisco was shaken but not stirred too seriously just before 3 p.m. Monday, when a 3.8 magnitude registered just south of the city in the San Bruno area.
Coincidentally, today is the 105-year anniversary of a devastating earthquake and fire that ravaged San Francisco in 1906. That quake registered a 7.8, leaving much of the city reduced to rubble, according to report at the KGO-TV website in San Francisco.
There are reportedly only three survivors still alive from that quake, including Bill Delmonte, who was 3 years old at the time and told the television station that his home was left a shell of itself.
“All there was left was the three walls and we would climb up the first, second, third floors to just play – even in the winter time,” Delmonte told KGO-TV. “When it would rain there would be a lake in the middle and we would be paddling on a piece of board.”
