At some point, retirement day inevitably comes, whether you are a human or a dog. It happened in Mineta, where Crazy Jack, a yellow Labrador retriever, sniffed his last suitcase in search of bombs. It was the end of nine years, which began soon after 9/11, when Transportation Security Administration provided the funding to acquire and train the dog. After a nine-year stint (an impressive 63-year stint in dog years), Crazy Jack is finally hanging up his collar. His role will be taken over by the three German shepherds who currently work with him.

Retiring alongside Jack will be his trainer, San Jose Police Officer Randy Changco. But this is not the end of their relationship. One man and dog retire, Crazy Jack will move into Changco’s home, so that they can enjoy their retirement together.
